Despite the LSU Tigers suspending Will Wade for a recent report suggesting he’s involved in offering players money to go to the school, Tremont Waters still has nothing but positive thoughts for his head coach.
Following LSU defeating the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, Waters spoke about Wade.
“He was here in spirit,” Waters said of his coach. “I’m pretty sure — like 101 percent — that he watched the game. And I’m pretty sure when we messed up he was yelling at the TV and throwing stuff at the TV.
“We know that he’s had our backs since Day 1.”
Tremont Waters had 14 points and 8 assists in the victory.
It’s not yet known for how long the LSU Tigers will keep Will Wade suspended. Around this time last year, Arizona Wildcats coach Sean Miller was given a similar suspension for similar reasons, but managed to resurface in time for the NCAA Tournament.
Given audio is involved, in which Wade is discussing a then-recruit with a person connected to the FBI’s probe into college basketball, this situation could be considered far more damning. Time will, obviously, tell.
Up next for the LSU Tigers is the SEC Tournament.
