The UCF Knights managed to defeat the VCU Rams in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. A large reason as to why the Knights were able to advance to the Round of 32 was the play of Tacko Fall, a large human who plays in the middle for UCF.
Fall finished with 13 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks. Those numbers are obviously absurd, but not exactly new for the 7-foot-6 talent. His size is actually something UCF relies upon heavily.
“Obviously, we had the size advantage,” Fall said. “We’ll have the size advantage against any team we play. Obviously, we took advantage of it.”
Even those who have to face Fall know it changes how their offense might operate.
“Some of those shots we get at the rim, it’s hard with him down there,” VCU forward Issac Vann said.
CBB Today wrote UCF, and Tacko Fall, months ago as a team to keep an eye on.
Up next for the UCF Knights is an insanely fun game, as they will face the Duke Blue Devils in the Round of 32.
A nation should wait, sincerely, to see if Zion Williamson and Tacko Fall meet each other near the rim. Someone is bound to end up a meme.
