Devin Askew, a five-star guard prospect out of the 2021 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Vanderbilt Commodores.
This news was relayed on the mean streets of Twitter by Stockrisers and Rivals reporter Jake Weingarten, who also mentioned the Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats contacted him at midnight.
For those unaware, at midnight on June 15, it became legal for coaches to begin direct contact with players from the 2021 recruitment cycle. In turn, there’s been a lot of activity over the last few hours.
As for the talented Devin Askew, not only do most reputable recruiting service outlets have him pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s one of the 15 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruiting class. He is most certainly going to end up being heavily recruited.
The Vanderbilt Commodores are hoping the new era of the program, led by Jerry Stackhouse, will end up being more fruitful than the last few years.
