It isn’t taking new Vanderbilt Commodores coach Jerry Stackhouse time to get going on the recruiting trail. Having already offered scholarships to several players since taking the job, the former NBA star has offered three more to three players spread out over different classes.
According to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, Jalen Suggs, Chet Holmgren, and Prince Aligbe have all been offered rides from the school.
Jalen Suggs is a five-star guard in the 2020 recruiting class. According to 247Sports, Suggs ranks as the No. 2 combo guard and No. 11 player overall in the 2020 class.
Chet Holmgren is a four-star big man out of the 2021 recruiting class. Most reputable recruiting service outlets have the youngster pegged as one of the 60 (or so) best players in his grouping.
As for Prince Aligbe, a freshman in high school, most reputable outlets have yet to track the young man in earnest, though he projects to eventually be at least a four-star caliber prospect.
Nevertheless, the Vanderbilt Commodores are recruiting for both a quick turnaround as well as some longer term success. Time will tell how it works out.
