Jalen Duren, a five-star prospect out of the 2022 college basketball recruiting class, appears to be a target of the Villanova Wildcats. While Jay Wright could not be there, as he was overseas, assistants went to go check on the youngster on Friday.
News of Nova’s visit was relayed to the masses on the mean streets of Twitter by Rivals and Stockrisers grassroots guru Jake Weingarten.
Jalen Duren is interesting to talk about for a few different reasons, and one of them that rests outside his ranking is how some outlets consider the 6-foot-8 talent a center. Obviously, how a website pegs a player in terms of position is becoming less and less important as time goes by.
As for the good stuff, not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have him pegged as a five-star caliber player, but some even go as far to suggest Jalen Duren is one of the two best players in his class.
No wonder the Villanova Wildcats are after his services. Also, it probably helps — at least the program — that he’s from Philly.
