The Virginia Cavaliers won it all, but that doesn’t mean Tony Bennett’s work is done. The program has offered Justin McKoy, a small forward prospect out of the 2019 recruiting class, a scholarship.
This news was relayed on Twitter by multiple reporters, including Stockrisers scribe Jake Weingarten.
McKoy is an interesting prospect because it seems as though plenty of quality programs are offering him full rides to their universities even though most reputable recruiting service outlets only have him pegged as a three-star caliber player.
This is where it’s always worth discussing how the numbers of stars attached to a player’s name doesn’t inherently define the guy as a talent. Justin McKoy, no matter the star-rating he’s been receiving, it good enough in the eyes to who it matters most.
Nevertheless, the Virginia Cavaliers are likely waiting to see who they will lose to the NBA following their NCAA Tournament journey.
