No matter what happens the rest of the way in the NCAA Tournament, by making the Final Four, the Virginia Cavaliers and Tony Bennett have at least kicked jokes due last year’s historic failure right in the face.
Well, not literally. Jokes don’t have actual faces.
Leading up to the last weekend in college basketball, Bennett discussed his approach to the final push of his team’s season.
“I’ve listened to people and when I’ve either read some things or heard things coaches said, it seems like it’s the balance of, you do have to enjoy it, but you do have to remain focused and prepare well because you can get pulled in by so many different obligations,” Tony Bennett said.
Everything he said makes obvious sense.
What will be interesting for the Virginia Cavaliers is to see if/when their suffocating defense falters, if they have enough faster paced offense in their system to adjust. There’s a decent chance the Cavs will never have to do it, as their defense is scary good, but it’s likely the team’s biggest concern entering the Final Four.
