New Virginia Tech Hokies coach Mike Young isn’t wasting time on the recruiting trail. Cameron Thomas, a five-star guard prospect out of the 2020 recruiting class, will be checked in on by the program on Friday.
This news was relayed on Twitter by Rivals reporter Corey Evans.
Not only do most reputable recruiting service outlets have the young man pegged as a five-star caliber player, but most tend to agree he’s roughly one of the 20 (or so) best recruits in the entire 2020 class.
Cameron Thomas has drawn plenty of interest from other big boy programs. The Florida Gators, North Carolina State Wolfpack, and a whole host of other schools are going after his services.
As for the Virginia Tech Hokies, they are attempting to keep the momentum going in a world without Buzz Williams.
The university hired Mike Young shortly after Williams took the Texas A&M gig. Young was last with Wofford.
