Donovan Johnson, a four-star prospect out of the 2020 college basketball recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Virginia Tech Hokies.
This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten.
Having drawn interest from plenty of schools, the Xavier Musketeers and TCU Horned Frogs have already offered the young man a ride as well.
A 6-foot-7 wing from Pennsylvania, Johnson has seen the quality of offers he’s been receiving get better as his recruitment grows longer in the tooth. Other programs interested in his services are Akron, Davidson, George Washington and a bunch of other quality schools. Xavier, Virginia Tech and TCU, however, do seem to be the largest who have gone this active in trying to hand him.
Most reputable recruiting service outlets do have Donovan Johnson pegged as a four-star caliber player. That being said, some do have him sitting right outside their top-100 boards.
As for the Virginia Tech Hokies, they’re entering the 2019-20 college basketball campaign hoping to keep the momentum going in life without Buzz Williams.
