Carter Whitt, a four-star point guard prospect out of the 2021 recruiting class, has been offered a scholarship by the Virginia Tech Hokies. This news was relayed on Twitter by Stockrisers reporter Jake Weingarten, who also mention the Boston College Eagles and Florida Gators had already offered him the same deal.
A North Carolina product, while larger programs have obviously targeted the young man, some smaller schools have also attempted to get in on his recruitment process early.
Presumably, those programs will get weeded out over time, as larger schools tend to land prospects of this caliber, but programs like High Point and Liberty have been eyeing the youngster as well.
Not only do all reputable recruiting service outlets have Carter Whitt pegged as a four-star caliber player, with some have him bordering as a five-star, most tend to agree he’s one of the 40 (or so) best players in the entire 2021 recruiting class.
With the Virginia Tech Hokies moving on to a new era of college basketball, it will be interesting to see if the new staff can continue with the momentum originally built by Buzz Williams.
